Topic: Take Making Mistakes as A Norm

We all tend to make mistake along our life journey. From little mistakes like making the wrong choice of food and getting butterfly in the stomach to big mistakes like getting a wrong investment and loss large amount of money. No one can be perfect and not make mistakes which we should admit and live with the reality. However, it is possible for us to minimize the mistakes we made in terms of frequency and scale through consistent training and with the right attitude.

Hal Gregeson from Harvard stated that everyone of us hate to make mistake but the mistake we made may become the most righteous thing happened in life. If we get too immersed in getting things right, we will get ourselves mixed with people with same opinions and it is like quarantine ourselves from the real world. In reality, we are beings with a diverse characters and thoughts. It is normal to be wrong in some ways as we can’t guarantee everyone could agree with us.

Get use to making mistakes and increase its frequency by trying and doing more. Whenever we try to learn new things, we are deemed to make mistakes and this is the time when we can embrace making mistakes and recover fast to improve. Furthermore, traveling to a new place without following tour group is another way to test our own capability to learn and recover from mistakes.

Mix with people who are willing to point out our mistakes. Without getting uncomfortable and learning about our mistakes, we can never improve in the first place. To me, I’m still having some trouble to accept mistakes as I will feel utterly uncomfortable, nervous, embarrassed and even helpless. However, when I cool myself down and get things straight in my mind, I will have a clearer vision on how to rectify things and get over with the mistakes. Again, it is important to admit about it and improve based on the mistake.

I will be doing mistakes time to time and I hope to be able to embrace it sooner! How about you?
