It is obvious that an abundance of courses are being held in a range of colleges for students who want to attend through the internet by distance studying. I would like to argue that there are some advantages as well as disavantages for this trend.

On the one hand, it is clear that the development has brought a number of benefits. Firstly, studying online might be valuable for people to save their resources effectively in terms of finance, time and effort. In fact, learners may expend a plenty of money and time on doing other recreational activities such as learning how to play sports, studying English or even going out with close friends after stressful classes. Secondly, in an ordinary class, there have been many distractions from different factors like sounds of vehicles and other machines in nearby construction, so students might suffer a noisy and uncomfortable studying environment, unlike distance learning which is not likely be affected much by outside elements. Thus, they may pay more attention to the lessons when studying online rather than in a face-to-face class room, contributing to raising their academic results.

On the other hand, although online courses seem to be a such helpful trend, its drawbacks should not be overlooked. To begin with, studying online may be making people become more and more isolated. Specifically, attending a distance class might not create real interactions among students, which made them become more active and crative. Therefore, this may lead to an adverse consequence that they tend to go to work as a robot after graduation. In addition, students studying online may not have opportunities to make essential experiments when studying a specialized subject to understand lessons deeper and remember longer.

In conclusion, in spite of several detrimental impacts, I strongly believe that taking an online course should be considered due to its beneficial points.
