If you have a 6, 7 or 8 years old kid, you have probably heard "What if?" so many times.

Well...., this question is one of the favorites among second graders: "What if I add some salt into my juice?" "What if I stick this neadle in my ballon?" "What if we saved the hail in the freezer?"

There's a reason for all this, curiosity
The curiosity of children is infinite. Since they are born, they begin to feel interested in everything that surrounds them.

So, what is curiosity?
According to the specialist in child development, curiosity is the natural behavior of wanting to know something through research and learning. It has the effect of encouraging people to seek information about something and then interact with the environment as well as with others. This instinct stimulates personal growth.

Curiosity in children is the first step to their learning. Some parents may inadvertently see that curiosity as unwelcome and negative. This can lead them to stop the child's natural curiosity. And all of this is understanding. When you need to get home soon and your child refuses to walk because he is observing those flowers in somebody's garden, you do not think 'he is developing is curiosity, do you?

We, humans, are known as researchers, almost since we are born we are naturally curious. Babies love touching, looking and observing the objects and the people around them.

Around 6, 7 and 8 years old, science is great fun. Second graders love to conduct experiments, make observations, and record their findings. You can create simple science projects at home. Track the phases of the moon on a chart for a month. What happens? Place a cup of juice in the freezer and monitor how long it takes to freeze.

3 ways in which curiosity motivates the brain to learn

1. Activates and mobilizes dopamine; a chemical messenger or neurotransmitter to achieve objectives, helping to remember information.

2. It benefits the hippocampus, one of the brain centers, fundamental in the formation and consolidation of long and short term memory.

3. The tandem or combination of the reward system and hippocampus facilitates the learning and receptivity of information, even of the one that is not of interest or importance.

Some easy ways to fuel kids' curiosity
Keep interesting books around. If you read them together she can expand her understanding of the scientific concepts that interest her, such as geology, dinosaurs, and space.

Always look up the answers to those questions you cannot answers, even if do not do it immediately.

From time to time, pay a visit to the local museum.

As curiosity is paramount to develop a positive approach to learn, you should not allow your child to lose:
The interest.
The motivation.
The desire.
The restlessness
And passion.
