EDUCATION OR DEGRADATION?

What are schools created for?!

Parents who are happy to lead their kids to school every 1st of September are sure: their kids get good and necessary education. But is it really so??

There is more and more critics and scandals connected with educational system in my country. People are shocked that total control and juvenile justice's dirty hands try to cover even educational organisations.
Moreover parents aren't satisfied with the quality of knowledge their kids get at schools.

Why?

1. Special copybooks

Scandals about them have been loud for a long time.
First of all, despite education must be free, most schools make parents BUY these copybooks. They aren't cheap by the way.

But the most awful is the scheme of education they propose.

The process of education becomes every year more and more primitive. Children write less and less, calligraphy lessons are almost abolished. All education already in elementary school resembles the test system, as in the Unified State Examination, the main disadvantage of which is that it does not develop mental abilities of its students. By the way, this type of examination (tests) was invented in the USA in order to control the educational level of children with developmental disabilities.

They have stupid tasks, the level of complexity is very low (many parents say: "Do authors think our kids have a delay in development?!"
And they have very little space to write anything by hand!
How can a child learn handwriting if he writes only some words in every page.

To compare: in the past (when I studied at school and earlier) these copybooks looked like this:

2. Wrong tasks

The tasks are intentionally made so that more time is spent not on solving the problem, but on understanding the condition. They contradict simple everyday logic. Imagine what is happening in the head of a child, even if we, adults, cannot always understand the condition. Through such tasks there is a complete breakdown of logical thinking, which is formed at this particular age, and if it does not form now, then it will be too late.

3. Wrong programmes

The programs are designed so that there is no complete picture. Just like in the Internet, children mostly consume finely granular content, i.e. just a set of facts, without connections, and without a system.

That's why they know school programme MUCH worse than my generation and MUCH MUCH worse than soviet kids (our parents, for example, still remember much from their school programme, but modern kids forget everything in 2-3 months!).

4. Digitalization

It is planned to eliminate paper textbooks by 2020 by replacing them with tablets.
The key elements of the Moscow Digital School (that will be the basis for all schools of such a type) is video tutorials and an electronic diary.
It also assumes game forms of learning, teacher replacement with a virtual tutor etc.

No human connections, no communication - pure and soulless digitalization.
Do you teach kids or robots?!

5. Absurd textbooks

They're full of mistakes and wrong facts.
But the main is they are created in illogical order!

English textbooks have phrases and sentences in the 1st page!
Only then there're an alphabet (again a stupid one - examples of words contain different types of syllables - but kids can't read them!), and only then there're some reading rules and exercises.

How is it possible?
For what and for whom were they made?
Just mixture of facts and information, no system, no logic, nothing.

My friend is an English teacher, she showed me some first pages of an English textbook (sorry for the quality)

At first there is a page with "Hello, My name is...."

Only then letters!

And then reading rules

She proves textbooks are really awful and stupid.
There're good ones but they're not approved by the state system, so they can't be bought using state funds.

But at the same time the requirements for pupils are rather high!

These are rules for teachers of pupils of 2-4 forms.

Pupils should know different grammatical constructions, over 500+ lexical units, they must be able to listen and understand other people's speech, they should have writing skills, they must be ready to write and retell texts etc.

Now I start to understand why there are veeeery few kids who don't attend tutors after school lessons. They just won't be able to pass these exams!

And the most awful thing is that modern school teaches to think by pattern!
No opinion, no fantasy, no personal perception.

As my friend-teacher says:"Kids at schools should go only straight, any step left or right is forbidden".

Sort:

I also remember the copybooks in elementary school and special textbooks in mathematics, which we bought. At the same time, the paradox is that the quality of education is falling, and the requirements for the future first - grader are growing. Modern children even before school go to special preparatory courses, to tutors, English courses to go to school. Children should already be able to read and write. And I have a question - and what then teachers will teach children?

thank you SO much!!

Такая проблема не только в России. Практически укаждого государства система образования построена для воспитания примитивного стада, которым легко управлять.

Modern "education," at least in the U.S. is geared at producing obedient drones to fill spots in factories and cubicles. Very little emphas is put into actual learning, critical thinking, and having any marketable skills whatsoever. Anyone who thinks they are doing a good thing by sending their children to these indoctrination day camps are only fooling themselves.
