Education, The Key To A Better Future But Then Why Are We Being Deprived? Be The Voice Of The Hopeless

in #education6 years ago

Legendary President Nelson Mandela once said:

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world

Education might not be the only solution to attain sustainable human and economic development, it is however the foundation

If there is any other word I could use, I would. Because education is much more than powerful. It is the most powerful tool needed to combat poverty and other life difficulties challenging the human existence. It is the foundation on which our country's fate is built. Without education, the future of a country is uncertain. Okay, it is certain, but certain to doom.

Our society already have good understanding of the importance of education. There is no need to keep whining about that. But yet, we are being deprived of it. Does it mean our leaders just do not want a better future for our society or they just want the best of the future to belong to their children alone?

Day in day out, just as people are dying so also are many being born. The natal rate is almost double of that of mortal. We are already suffering from overpopulation. But then, as these children are being born, few of them are introduced to school.

A certain statistics reveals that over 70 million children across the world are not getting any form of education in 2010 and in 2016, UNESCO reported over 263 million children being out of school. And why are these children leaving school or not attending at all?

Can a parent who cannot even provide 2 square meals for the children afford to send them to school at all? And those that are fortunate to get enrollment into schools, what can they learn on an empty stomach?

There used to be free education in most parts of the world. Nigeria included. Not anymore. We are in the era where government owned institutions are not so different from private owned ones. Education is no more free and only few percentage of the population can afford to pay the tuition fees.

The children are known to be the future of the country. The leaders of tomorrow. I wonder the kind of tomorrow that is awaiting us.

We are the government and we need to change our thinking. We need to prioritize child education. We need to ensure that every child is educated. Because ever child deserves the best. And because these children are our tomorrow.

You've said the point, not all parents can afford getting their children enrolled to school and I think there ain't solution to that as at now.

Yes, it's true we cannot enrol every child in school buy the government can reduce the number of children that are just roaming around the street as their parents could not afford to enrol them. It is why we have the government.. Education hard to be free before. I mean really free...

I doubt we can do free Education in Nigeria any longer...things have really changed!

Government of CHANGE 😂

Our case in Nigeria is a case of a nation that does not value education. We need to invest in our education system

Exactly, bro. But we do not have such government that cater for the needy

Overpopulation is one of the factors that restricts the children from good education. The free education won't even go round if government sticks to it.

Well, the population is increasing truly. But it's not just in Africa. Each of India and China have tens of Nigeria's population and yet the rate of illiteracy is not as much as Nigeria's. It's cause they have a better government.

Most of these problems rest on our leaders

Hello! I find your post valuable for the wafrica community! Thanks for the great post! @wafrica is now following you! ALWAYs follow @wafrica and use the wafrica tag!

Youths are the hope of the nation that is why they should have better education and not be deprived from it. We have free education here in Phil, I hope this happens to every country too. Education is important.

Thank you @bhabykat. That is exactly what I am saying, @captain-tom. The issue of over population is a global problem, not just in Nigeria. But yet most of these foreign countries know how the control it. African leaders are just selfish and are corrupt. No love for the citizens and no care for the poor.
