Art 135: Drawing Cherie Gil, the first rate Antagonist!

in #elegance6 years ago (edited)

Hi, artistic steemians and welcome to my 135th art blog. Today, I will show you how I work with Faber Castell Colored Pencils on vellum board to draw Cherie Gil, a veteran actress in the Philippines. So, without further ado, here’s my creation...

Helena Montenegro | Colored Pencils | 8.5 x 13 inches

Helena Montenegro is the antagonist of the current television series called “Onanay”. She is played by the veteran and award-winning actress Cherie Gil who is very attached to his role as Lavinia in Bituing Walang Ningning. In that program, she left a mark with her famous line...

You’re nothing but a second rate, trying hard, copy cat! (Then throwing the wine straight to the face of the protagonist)

That line had its remake on her current TV program, Onanay. But there is a slight change of lines. She said, “You’re nothing compared to my daughter.” ( Then throwing the “Sago’t Gulaman) on the face of the protagonist)

She is one of the most effective villains in the Philippine movies and tv. Young and new actors consider it an honor and privilege to work with her. And it is also my honor to draw her and make a fan art of the one and only, Cherie Gil.

The Drawing Process

Step 1: Draw the outline of tge subject using a pencil. Make sure that you do not apply too much pressure on the pencil so that it can be erase easily.

Step 2: Start from the upper-right corner if you are a right-handed person so that you wouldn’t smudge off the areas which are done already.

Step 3: Do not be afraid to get very dark colors in one area because they create depth in your drawing or painting. You will love the end-result anyway.

Step 4: When you do the face of your subject, be careful in selecting the colors for the skin. Start from the lightest color to the darkest shade.

Step 5: Continue to the other parts when you feel uneasiness on one area. I do this all the time when I have doubts and felt bored. I am unsure with the eye on the right so I move to the neck and shoulders.

Step 6: Complete the whole drawing then do the details. Look at your work before you use blenders. It should only be the last step or else you will have a problem with correcting or applying other colors.
