People view the stork as a guardian angel of the hearth. The stork is not afraid of people, it nests on the tops of trees near human habitation, it returns year after year to the old place. Therefore, it is a symbol of permanence and well-being. The image of the stork has been considered from the earliest times to be an amulet, a positive symbol. Therefore, a stork in a tattoo is applied to have an indelible amulet and to protect oneself from troubles and misfortunes.
One ancient tradition says that one day God gave the son of Eve a sack and ordered him to drown him in the sea. However, he was curious and opened the sack. Snakes, worms and toads crept out of the bag. They very quickly crawled on the ground and flooded it. Then God, in punishment, turned him into a stork and ordered him to cleanse the land until his death.
