Elysian: Taking E-Commerce to the Next Level
The art of buying and selling things on the Internet has been made easy with the introduction of e-commerce, where a buyer can comfortably sit in his house and place an order on a good he or she visualizes on the Internet and have it sent to his or her home. This saved a user the stress of going to the market and interacting directly with the marketers. The e-commerce industry has been growing economically very exponentially over the years, especially now that the world is entering a very high tech era.
In my country, Nigeria, we have several e-commerce platforms such as Jumia and Konga, and these services grew rapidly over the years giving a chance to numerous merchants to showcase their goods and buyers to purchase the said goods. But numerous problems developed as a result of the fast growth of the platform and they included
Security - the Internet being very open and centralised is prone to hackers and this hackers try to find and source vulnerabilities in the system where they steal customer‘s information such as credit card details, personal information and other sensitive information. This stolen information will the be used to purchase items or hack other properties related to the customer. This problem now made lot of customers become sceptical and doubtful about shopping online.
Complex and Technical Interface with bad user experience - most of the e-commerce platforms are usually not user friendly as most customers as a newbie gets lost in the system. There could also be an inappropriate presentation of the goods being sold that a customer won't like the product once he gets a hold of it and other human related issues.
Introducing Elysian,
This is a very new platform that is decentralised and uses the ethereum blockchain to store customer data, process e-commerce at a faster rate and greatly improve the user experience.
