Investor's decision-making - Psychological vision ------ final chapter (10) ----- Books that I read and helped me grow in this area !!!!

in #english6 years ago

Good morning everyone.

I will write here about some books that I read that helped me to develop in the area related to stock investment and stock exchange. If anyone wants to go into that area and study it, these books will be a great help!

1- The richest man in Babylon

aaaaa1.jpg

The richest man in Babylon is a book by George Samuel Clason, who provides financial advice in a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon. The characters in the parables learn simple lessons of financial wisdom through their experiences in business and the management of household finances. These parables are divided into chapters, all linked together, if I am not mistaken, and show how the richest man in Babylon teaches us how to earn money. In general, the basic idea of this book is that to always have capital increase, we must save a part of our income and never spend with lusts .... A very important book in my opinion, for those who want to accumulate capital.

2- Thinking fast an slow

This is one of the "xodos". Book of psychologist of my line of study and that I think one of the most intelligent people of this academic milieu today.

The renowned psychologist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, shows how our mind is and explains the two systems that guide the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive and emotional. System 2 is slower, more deliberative and more logical. The impact of overconfidence on corporate strategies, the difficulties of predicting what will make us happy in the future, the profound effect of cognitive bias on everything from playing in the stock market to planning our next vacation - each of them can be understood knowing how the two systems shape our judgments and decisions.

This book helps us understand how we think about things and with it, we can check what thinking we are using and think whether it is the improvement strategy for good decision making. Another book totally recommended !!!!

3- The intelligent investor

The greatest investment adviser of the twentieth century, Benjamin Graham, taught and inspired people around the world. Graham's value investing philosophy - which protects investors from substantial errors and teaches them how to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the bible of the stock market since its original publication in 1949.

Over the years, the evolution of the market has proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. I have not read this whole book, because there are some parts that I realized that I would not use within investments and others that I had difficulty understanding. It is a book in my opinion, with a reading not so easy to be understood. It is necessary to have several concepts of economics and mathematics in mind to understand 100% what is put into it. I confess I have not.
Besides actions, he talks about other markets, which did not call me that much attention, so I did not read everything. For those who want to understand the mind of this genius (mentor of Warren Buffet), is a book well recommended in my vision. One just needs to note that he writes with insight within the American market. Here in Brazil, things are a bit different. For example, if a company is bad there, it tends to go bankrupt. Here, there may be some special "help" that will make him push his results with his belly year by year ..... If you can see these differences, it's a good book to read.

4- The Tao of Warren Buffet

A collection of expressive and inspiring proverbs from America's favorite businessman who reveal his secrets to success.

Like the sayings of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu, Warren Buffett's mundane wisdom is deceptively simple and enormously powerful in its application. In Warren Buffett's The Tao, Mary Buffett - author of three books on Warren Buffett's investment methods - joins renowned Buffettologist and international speaker David Clark to bring you the most witty, entertaining, and memorable phrases of Warren Buffett with the goal of unveiling the philosophy and investment strategies that made Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway shareholders so rich.

Warren Buffett's investment accomplishments are unparalleled. He owes his success to hard work, to integrity and to the most illusory ease of all, common sense. The quotes in this book exemplify Warren's practical strategies and provide useful illustrations for each investor - large or small - and models that everyone can follow. Citations are selected from a variety of sources, including personal conversations, corporate reports, profiles, and interviews. The authors provide brief explanations for each quotation and use examples of Buffett's own business transactions whenever possible to illustrate his words at work.

I highly recommend reading this book. A very simple reading, can be done in one or two days. It will show you how the focus on integrity, patience, respect for others ... will make them grow in the long run. No wonder he is a man around 90 years old and lives super good. His mind is very good, because he does not think of doing evil to others and has built all his dimdim with a focus on buying good company stocks and letting managers work there with total confidence.

5-Rich Dad Poor Dad

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two parents - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped their thoughts about money and investment. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money working for you.

I commend this book for you to see how family rearing can shape development in one's work and finances. How our caregivers can "train" us to be bosses or employees, regardless of social class. Very good book and quick to read.

I thank the reading, which must have gotten a bit big, but for those who will enter the stock market, mainly, it is of great help !!!

Thank you and good morning!!!!!!

I love The Tao of Warren Buffet, I read it every year and I always get a good message. I’ll try the other ones, thank you for sharing them with us. Have a great day😉

Greetings, Miss Dani

Glad you liked it. These were some books I read and recommend. Of course that was within my vision. If you have a different financial picture, you should look for books that work differently. Mine would be more "conservative" ....
