Bahama Mama is not only the title of a Boney M song, it is also an ideal cocktail for summer nights. Very tasty and refreshing. However, it is quite important that you like rum, as this combination uses two types of rum, and tropical fruits, which also carries a few. Let's take a look at its ingredients:
15 ml of strong rum (Bacardi 151, for example)
15 ml of Malibu
15 ml grenadine
30 ml orange juice
30 ml pineapple juice
250 ml of crushed ice
5 ml of coffee liqueur (optional)
The best way to prepare a Bahama Mama is with a mixer, mixing all the ingredients and crushed ice to achieve a consistency similar to that of slushies. If you do it in a shaker you should use four or five ice cubes. It is usually garnished with a slice of lemon or orange and the classic umbrella, which gives it an even more summery touch.
