Hello everyone!! This week I was writing and reading about movies that show apocalyptic scenes or visions of a futuristic vision where humanity goes through its worst moments and, as a result of that, I thought about creating a publication that talks about this anime series, which I consider contains a interesting topic raised in a dystopian world.

The recommendation I make is based entirely on my personal tastes, so I do not try to impose myself on other tastes, I recommend it as a series of anime for lovers of this genre of action, adventure and suspense.

This post does not contain spoilers that affect your experience as a spectator.

Guilty Crown is an anime of science fiction, romance, drama, suspense and fantasy, with only 22 chapters. It was released in 2011 by the production company Production I. G. After the anime an adaptation was made to the manga and later some computer games were also published. This anime shows a strong influence by others such as: Evangelion, Code Geass, among others.

Argument

The story in which Guilty Crown places us is in a moment of chaos in the city of Tokyo in Japan. Everything begins on a date called ''Lost Christmas'', a December of 2029 where a virus from space, that is, extraterrestrial, spreads in the city, causing tragedies and changes in the country, which gave cavity to that a new government called GHQ, (General Headquarters) will be established.

10 years after ''Lost Christmas'' the anime begins to take a different direction. Then the Undertakers appear, a resistance group against the GHQ government, their goal is the liberation of Japan.

Shu Ouma, a boy of 17 years, is the main protagonist in the series, attends Tennozu high school. His appearance is of a young man with brown hair and eyes, usually wearing a school uniform.

Shu is the bearer of a special power called ''the ability of the three'' which was accidentally acquired when he first meets Inori Yuzuhira, this ability is also called the Genome Void, reveals the true power that our protagonist has.

Inori Yuzuhira, a 17-year-old girl, vocalist of a musical band called Egoist and active member who fights to fight evil along with the Undertakers.

Inori is characterized by being a shy girl with pink hair and to have much resemblance to Mana Ouma, not being human is said to have no personality, but in the plot of the series you can see how sometimes try to get one.

Mana Ouma, is the older sister of Shu Ouma, is characterized as the first person who came into contact with the virus of the apocalypse. In the series it is established that Mana has a mysterious connection with Gai Tsutsugami and Inori Yuzuhira.

Her appearance is long pastel pink hair and always has a floral ornament on her hair, and her eyes are orange. Mana Ouma shows how the virus is capable of corrupting and destroying whoever is possessed by it.

Gai Tsutsugami, is the leader of the resistance group Undertaker, he is 21 years old, since his childhood he is a friend of Shu and Mana, he represents one of the most important characters in the series, for being a great ally and antagonist .

His appearance is of a tall and thin boy, blond hair and blue eyes. He wears a military vest where he keeps his weapons. In the same way that other children of the population were subjected to experiments by a doctor who specialized in using children for his tests.

Tsugumi Shibata, is a girl of 14 years, member of another group that is formed later, called Funeraria, where the aforementioned characters are already part, Tsugumi is characterized as a great hacker and her job is to participate in the missions from a room, where she notifies about vital signs and gives useful information to her allies.

Her appearance is of a small girl, her hair is long and black and her eyes are blue. Always wear electronic cat ears.

Hare Menjou, is a 16 year old girl, student and classmate of Shu. Although she is not part of the resistance groups, she is a great admirer of Shu and is helpful and interested in him.

Her appearance is of a girl with brown hair tied in pigtails with red ribbons, and always wears her school uniform.

Shu's main ability comes from the Genome Void, located in his right arm, this power has the quality of extracting the Void from any person, referring to Void as the heart of the person materialized in a weapon that, depending on the personality is unique in each individual. But it is important to clarify that the use of the Void does not affect the owner completely, as long as it is returned inside.

Genome Void

What involves the use of a Void is not only to share the heart, but to see in the other person's life, share their memories, empathy and feelings that they once felt, all these things are absorbed by the Genome Void of Shu when taking out a Void.

Void

In each mission against the government of GHQ, Shu is forced to extract the void of some of his companions, but the main and most recurrent is that of Inori, which is represented as a great sword.

The style of the animation despite being old is very fluid, and you can see these details in the sequences of the clashes against the Endlave of the GHQ.

The music used in the anime was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, the tracks derived from the band Egoist are actually some songs written by Supercell, a band of J-Pop style and J-Rock. It is worth taking a moment to listen to some of their songs. I will share the opening of the series here.

The color palette used in this anime is cold and dark tones most of the time, to give the feeling of a chaotic and aimless world.

Except for some scenes between Shu and Inori where it seems to change to a slightly warmer tonality, for the representation of hope and purity in the midst of all that chaos.

The reason why I recommend this series of anime is because of the subject it deals with, the emotion and the situation in which it puts the viewer, it is a great work and deserves attention. There may be notable references to other animations, but it is not a reason to take away credits.

I give it 3 out of 5 stars in my final score.
