EOS mainnet voting

in #eos6 years ago

To say that the voting process is challenging would be an understatement for most that are not technically savvy. As turnout has been known to materially affect the outcome of elections, making it as easy as possible to vote becomes a key plank of arranging elections.

As I write this the staked total is : 18 687 250.4565 EOS [12.45% of 150M] and rising. I must admit that on some level I expected the vote to be out in minutes following release, but it wasn't to be. In my view, i suspect that the lack of specific easy to use voting tools and the requirement of private keys by third party apps has made it a tricky process.

I finally voted last night after hours of soul searching and trepidation. I used the scatter chrome extension, even though I long stopped using it for the much better and less resource intensive Brave browser. It is quite evident that the large holders are still holding back as they study the voting system.

Block. One should have spent a bit of time developing a user friendly voting portal as part of the blockchain development, seeing as constant voting is required to keep the block producers honest. It is not too late @dan, please help with this.

For everyone else, please vote when you feel completely comfortable using the available tools. But we need the mainnet running soonest.
