EOS on Coinbase

in #eos5 years ago

For just about a month Dan Larimer has been making noise on social media about April stating that the announcement to come was going to change everything. Without a doubt this announcement is pretty big for EOS, but it could just be the very beginning of something even greater.

Tasting Fast

Of course this is complete speculation from my part, but I happen to have some logic behind my reasoning. Until very recently really, the idea of DPOS was somewhat fringe, meaning that the purists among the crypto community could not simply accept a move away from POS regardless of any evidence that would pop up.

As a matter of fact, I would go as far as to say that there's still a chunk of the crypto community who can't get over the rise of POS, so to them DPOS just sounds like the ramblings of people who deserve to be institutionalized.

But then, because more and more users have gravitated to DPOS blockchains, even the most stubborn hard headed purists have to take a look under the hood. It's precisely then, when they actually do some research where they find themselves witnessing a possibility for scalability and a path to mass adoption.

Shift in the wind?

I sincerely hope this is the case, but know that I'm very biased on this matter. I mean, how many times have proponents of DPOS been screaming to the ether, that this technology can actually work, that the true way of valuing blockchains should not be exclusively its marketcap which of course can be fluffed and manipulated, but the user base and activity they have.

There's been multiple campaigns at this point pitching STEEM to coinbase, and I think that this particular event, if ever so slightly, probably says that they've not been completely deaf about it. That being said, this whole thing is starting with EOS, but there's no reason why in the near future it cannot include bitshares and our undervalued STEEM too.

Agreed 100%. As an EU resident however, it's much easier to use the exchange Bitvavo. KYC is still needed there, but is done in a matter of minutes AND they already have Steem there; paying with iDeal you can purchase around 50 different coins there in seconds.

Still getting Steem on CoinBase will surely be the bigger popularity-boost 😊

we need to be back in the top 20 coins... i think this could be the way.

Steem to Coinbase would be great. I think Coinbase is really going to have to get busy in order to keep up with the likes of Binance. Great post

I agree as it sets a precedent to listing a DPOS asset which has had its own technical implications for the exchanges. I think it could very well be a sign for a promising future for improved liquidity for Steem! Fingers crossed!

Coinbase is like Banks. Steem on coinbase is good for some reason.

I'm just waiting on something interesting to actually come out on EOS. So far none of the EOS projects interest me enough to use them. I haven't done anything with my EOS wallet since middle of last year. On the other hand, I use Steem every day. Hopefully June is the release date for the social media platform on EOS.
