Brock Pierce criticized in a Guardian newspaper video

The Guardian Newspaper in the UK has critisized Brock Pierce and Blockchain Entrepreneurs in a heavily nuanced video over their activities in the hurricane devastated Puerto Rico.

The original Guardian page is here.

Puerto Rico was heavily damaged by hurricanes in 2017 and it has not not recovered dues to the lack of support from the Federal Government in the US (Puerto Rico is part of the US although it has no vote in Congress or The Senate). Brock Pierce and other crypto entrepreneurs have moved in to help rebuild the island and its economy. They intend to put in place blockchain tech in order to achieve this - Rebuild Puerto Rico from the foundations up. The video focuses on the local opposition to this who call it a new form of colonialism and that the entrepreneurs are only there because of the tax incentives. At one point in the video (5min56) Brock Pierce says that he is more than just Blockchain tech and wants to bring in educators and academics. The conflict is emphasized in a shouting match at a conference at which Brock speaks (7min08)
.
What is interesting is that Block One and EOS isn't mentioned once. In fact no crypto currency is mentioned at all. It is just rogue crypto billionaires imposing themselves on Puerto Rico and they don't want it.

Now I don't know the full story behind this and it is hard to tell from the video as it is so nuanced in one direction so if anyone has any further info I would be interested to hear it
