Be Cautious When Downloading And Installing Apps

I downloaded a new game app into my phone as I was so fascinated by its gameplay and graphics. The first time I saw its ads was when I was watching some video clips in Youtube, and then I kept seeing it when I browsed through my Facebook. The developer surely did go all out to promote this game. Maybe you guys have seen the game ads too, which is called the "ERA OF CELESTIALS". Have you guys tried it? If you did, did you notice the terms and agreement they required from you before you can play the game?

Let me show you what are the instructions and requirement that the game wanted before you can access it. Look at the picture below and read what it states.

1. ALLOW ACCESS TO READ PHONE STATE
2. ALLOW ACCESS TO READ DATA
3. ALLOW ACCESS TO MICROPHONE

Now, isn't it a bit dubious for a game app to access such delicate and confidential information that we kept inside our phone? What type of data that they wanted to access? And why do they need to use the microphone? Isn't it suspicious?

I tried to skip the setting requirement thinking that I will still be able to play it, but I was wrong. The app kept on repeating (insisting) that I agree to their terms or EXIT the game. So, I quit and uninstalled it. I think that is the most appropriate decision to do.

So guys, when you have downloaded an app, read the instuctions and terms and conditions carefully before deciding to allow it to access the informations and datas inside our phones or computers. You'll never know what they will do with the data that they have gathered. It might just be a ploy to hack and spy on our private life.
