"Oh! I must shine! Umude people who have labeled me a nobody will someday call me a somebody. I will give my best, Sister Ngozi. I need a coach. Someone who will make me be a better table tennis player, shot put thrower, and an athlete. I must make it." he said and began to dance happily, "Yes! A nobody can become a somebody but you have a big task ahead of you. You will undergo series of training. Also build your spoken English, you make mistakes a lot when speaking English", said Ngozi.

"Fetching of water is also an exercise and a part of training too", Odili joked as he left the apartment for the well outside the house. That night he couldn't sleep. He kept awake and began to dream of how he became a national hero. How he would drive a mighty car to his village and show those who never cared about him that he had become somebody.

The following day, Ngozi engaged Odili in gymnastics. As a physical and Health Education tutor, she enjoyed teaching her students the rudiments and practical gymnastics. She was loved by her students and because of her, many of the students in the school where she taught became very much interested in Physical and Health Education. "These exercises are so strenous. I do not know that you are so talented. Are you feeling pain?"said Odili.

"Oh no! I am used to it. So get used to it. If you can master these arts of gymnastics, I will introduce you to Coach Adamu who will train you on certain kinds of sports",said Ngozi. Odili soon got used to it and was introduced to Coach Adamu, who worked in the sports complex, at the National Stadium, Surulere. Coach Adamu saw how energetic Odili was, and decided on training him in boxing and shot put. "You have to throw in a pushing motion the object as far as possible. You throw at the highest distance",said Coach Adamu as he positioned himself as a shot putter. "Sir, if i exceed the circle and stop board, will I be disqualified? asked Odili.

"Yes you will, and that will ruin our precious time of practising",replied Coach Adamu.
"But what are the rules in throwing shot puts?asked Odili
"listen up boy! Once your name is called, you have sixty seconds to start the throwing motion. Gloves are not necessary. You must rest the shot close to your neck and keep it tight to the neck throughout the motion. It must be released above the height of the shoulder, using one hand. Now give me a throw",said Coach Adamu.

Odili stepped into the circle and held the shot put as instructed. "Sir, it is very heavy", said Odili jokingly "Don't joke with it. Hold it well", ordered Coach Adamu. Odili felt like cracking a joke and, the shot put fell on his right feet. "My leg! Ouch!"he cried. "I told you never to joke with the ball. It's made of iron and steel and it's very heavy"said Coach Adamu as he helped Odili who now found it difficult to move alone. He was taken to the clinic in the National Stadium sports facility. After his leg had been well taken care of, he commenced his training and never joked with his training equipments any longer. He mastered the art of throwing shot put and went on to commence training on boxing. He wasn't going to fight a full-fledged man but a dwarf like him. An overall contest was set so as to pick the best sports men and women to represent the country. Odili came first in shot put and second in boxing. He could have ended up being the first in boxing but his opponent gave him a last, hot blow which shook one of his teeth. As he lost focus and deliberating on the shaky tooth, another blow came and took him down. He was the better boxer but lack of focus made him lose. He was among the few chosen to represent their country and he was so delighted.. .
