Once upon a time, the tortoise and the pigeon were good friends, they love each other to the extent that if they don't see, they wont be able to sleep. They put on the same cloth, eat the same food and also attends party together.

Birds of the same feather flock together, which means people with the same character mingle together but this saying is off point in the relationship between the tortoise and the pigeon,  they are so totally different because the pigeon treat the tortoise in a very nice way but the tortoise treat the pigeon bad.. It is due to the pigeon endurance that made it possible for them to be friends.  ..

When both are eating, the tortoise will make sure he eat three meats and leave just one for his friend and whenever they were lucky to get money, the pigeon already knows he has no share in it. All belongs to the tortoise. This is the kind of humiliation that the pigeon endure from the tortoise and that is why they were able to become great friends..

One day, the pigeon begged the tortoise to follow him to his in-law house and the tortoise agreed to follow him, it is not because of his love for the pigeon that made him agree to go but simply because he knows there will be more than enough food to eat there, both of them prepared and went to the pigeon's in-law house. When they got there, the pigeon greeted all his in-law by prostrating but the tortoise didn't respect the culture, he went directly to the kitchen to greet those preparing the food so he can see what they were preparing.

The in-law already prepared a seat for them and that was where they sat, it hadn't been up-to five minutes when the tortoise complained to the pigeon that he is already hungry, but the pigeon begged him to be patient, few minutes later, he told the pigeon that if he is shy to ask them for food then he will go and get the food himself, when the pigeon realised that tortoise is bent on disgracing him, he called his fiancee and told her that they still have somewhere else to go that they should serve him and his friend, in few minutes, the table Was filled with different dishes, the tortoise didn't wait for the food to land before he started eating hurriedly and didn't bother to thank his friend fiancee for the kind gesture...

When it was time for them to go home, the pigeon's father in law decided to give the pigeon and his friend a surprised gift. He bought a white horse and a black ram and kept them in a shed, he tied a dirty rope on the horse neck and a new rope that looks so neat on the ram's neck, he closed the door but made sure the rope were visible outside, after this, he called on the two friends to select a rope, he wanted to know if his son-in-law is greedy or not..

When the tortoise saw the ropes, immediately he picked the new rope and the pigeon took the second one, when they have selected the ropes, the pigeon in-law told them that it is whatever that is in the rope they will get as a gift, the tortoise was so happy and he keeps telling himself that his gift will be wonderful, when the pigeon father in law opened the door, the pigeon drew out a very beautiful white horse and the tortoise was so dejected and sad when he use his own rope to bring out a black ram..
