My Own Lyrics Challenge is going through the years to spotlight cool songs and this post is for 1948. Though written in 1927, “I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover” became a hit in 1948 by several artists, with Art Mooney’s version staying at number 1 on the Billboard chart 18 weeks.
Today this song is most associated with Merrie Melodies cartoons, and has appeared in several of them over the years. It was also in the tv show Gotham and got some new fans that way.
