Bidding Farewell to Spring Season

in #esteem5 years ago (edited)

He was as fresh as the month of May. - Geoffrey Chaucer.

Everyone who has read 'The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales' know that these famous lines are meant for a fictional and lovely character 'The Squire'; a young sleepless lover.

The month of May is associated with sweetness and freshness in the English Islands and temperate zones but here in Northern South Asia it's herald of upcoming scorching summer.

The air becomes dry, days become lengthy and the the wheat harvesters collect every last grain from the fields to brace themselves with the prolonged exposure to sun following the relief comes in the shape of Monsoon starting from July.

This year we witnessed a mild and pleasant weather in April and May with more than average rainfall. The spring this year brought so much color and love like never before. I visited nearby park last month to find gorgeous flowers in a floral exhibition. Now, the summer season is already started to bid farewell to lovely spring season.
