Clicked #61: World's Treacherous Roads !!!

in #esteem6 years ago

Hello Fellow Steemians
I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend.

The Shimla-Spiti-Manali road is known to be the Deadliest Road as well as the beautiful road.

It includes one way, under maintained roads for 100's of kilomteres, desserted mountains with mudy ways and landslide prone area with slipping rocks from the mountains on one side, suspension bridges and fast flowing river on the another side.

The way roads are carved from the mountains is horrifying.
It is undoubtly the most terrifying road of the world.

The roads got narrower, steep and dangerous as we entered KAZA. Spiti-Manali road trip is definiatly more challenging than the Leh-Ladakh highway (though I have to visit Leh-Ladakh yet).

There was a time where we found no village, no vehicle, no people or not even mobile networks for number of kilometeres.

The most scariest task was to give pass to the vehicle coming from other side at that shrinked road and even a small mistake in judgement would lead to any mishap.

With small narrowed treks we encoutered the stream of water which runs across the road. We had no idea how deep it could be.
We crossed those streams with our judgment.
I guess, we were lucky enough that we didn't faced any big trouble on our trip.

But, a few times we had to stop for an hour or so because of the landslides.

There were hardly any accidents, thanks to little traffic and the drivers who were used to the roads. They were really helpful, they helped us cross the difiicult edges and streams of river.

And special thanks to BRO (Borders Road Organization) for maintaining the roads high above the sea level. They are really our BRO's.

howdy from Texas clicked! haha! oh man..you guys are brave over there! how fast do you drive on that thing? I'd be crawling to look at the scenery but also in case another vehicle came from the other direction! wow great photos too!

@hello janton, actually this was my first time to drive on these type of roads my speed was around 30-40 Kmph. Yea agree with you that was quite difficult situation if another vehicle came from opposite direction, we had to reverse our vehicle so that other vehicle can pass by :D overall it was lovely experience

well howdy again clicked! it certainly made for an exciting post that's for sure, I wouldn't want to try and drive it at night!

frankly speaking one should never ever drive at night on these days :| They are scary no lights nothing... Lol i was scared of ghosts :|

haha! howdy back clicked! yes sir driving at night would be crazy because of the darkness. and ghosts! lol.

seriosuly i do believe in ghosts and Himachal Pradesh is a state of Gods and Evils :|

howdy again clicked! so the world's scariest road becomes even more scary if you were to drive it at night because of the ghosts? and Himachal Pradesh is a state there where that road is?

Hello @janton, not exactly this road is haunted but there are some roads in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh which are haunted.... driving at night is always risky :| in hills

There would be very beautiful environment ..
