The cause of white plaque on the tongue
A healthy tongue condition is usually reddish with a small bulge on its surface (called papil). White surface on the tongue can be affected by food scraps, but can also be caused by abnormalities, such as:
yeast infection (oral candidiasis), white or reddish tongue accompanied by pain or burning sensation, more common in elderly, diabetic patients or HIV / AIDS
Oral lichen planus: white patches on the tongue with discomfort
leukoplakia; white spots or plaques on the tongue are hard to scrape, often occurs in alcohol drinkers and smokers

maintain oral health
avoid irritating foods and drinks, such as hot food
avoid alcohol and do not smoke
