Narrated in ancient times, there was a godly man who wants trading. However, he has no capital. Finally, the man borrowed money from a generous merchant. He asked for a thousand dinar loan.

Because there are so many, traders lend the money, "You will lend me money, but look for someone who will be your guarantor. If you can't pay, that person will pay for it. "Allah is omnipotent and almighty!" Allah alone is my guarantor. Then look for the witness of the pious man." Then he answers, enough God is my witness. Because God is almighty, said the godly person.

"You are right" said the trader.

Then, the trader borrows a thousand dinars after making an agreement that three months later the money must be returned, because the money will be used.

Then, the pious person spends a thousand dinars to buy merchandise. He wants to trade to another country by boat. After sailing for days, the ship arrived safely throughout the country. There, he began trading on the market, near the pier. Within a month, all merchandise sold. He made a big profit three times the capital.

After packing, he looked for a boat to the dock. However, he did not find a ship that sailed to his country. Then, he remembered his promise who would return the money at the beginning of the month. The time is only four days. As for getting to his country, he needed four days. He is confused. He should, that day he began to sail. Then, continue walking along the beach to find a ship who can deliver him back to his country. However, he did not find it. He cried and was confused. He did not want to betray his promise.

Finally, in his sadness, he saw a piece of wood floating on the beach. He took the wood and took it. Then he took it and took it home to his inn. then, he went to the market to buy a wooden puncher. He cut the wood, then he wrote a letter.

My brother, I wrote this letter four days before falling in the payment of the money I borrowed as we had agreed first.
I don't know whether this letter arrived at you or not. I gave this whole thing to God who was my guarantor. Right now I really want to sail home to deliver this money. However, that cannot be done because there are no ships sailing to our country. Ships that sail to our country will leave in a month. I leave this one thousand dinars to God to be sent to you through this wood.

Then, he put the letter together with a thousand dinars and then wrapped it in plastic that was not translucent.
After everything was finished, he went to the beach to drain the wood. When he drained the wood, he prayed, "My God, you know that I borrowed a thousand dinars to Fulan. He asked me someone who could be my guarantee, and I answered" Enough God as my guarantor "Then, he asked me a witness , I said, "Allah is enough to be my witness." He has lent me a thousand dinars to be returned within a predetermined period of time. I give you a thousand dinars for you to convey to him , just in time, you are God Almighty, Amiin.

Then, he washed the wood into the sea. He just stood still on the beach, until the wood was lost in the waves in the middle of the sea. On the eagerly awaited day, the merchant who gave the loan, waited at the dock. He awaits the arrival of a ship that will bring the person he has lent a thousand dinars. He wants to take the money because there is a need.

Usually, the ship comes in the morning. However, that morning no ship arrived. He waited until noon, nor did he come. Then he waited until evening. However, none of the ships appeared. He also resigned if the money did not return. If the money did not return, he intended it as alms. Before returning home, he saw floating wood hit by waves on the beach. Instead of returning home with no results, he picked up the wood. Not bad, can be used for firewood at home, he thought to himself. He also brought the wood to his house.

Arrived at home, he put the wood in the kitchen Seeing the wood, his wife said, "It should be broken all together. Let it dry quickly and tomorrow it can be used for cooking" Then the merchant took an ax and broke the wood As soon as the wood broke, he was stunned see the bag inside. He picked up the bag and took out the contents. Apparently, the bag contained one thousand dinars and a letter. He read the letter carefully. He was moved and amazed. Instantly, he cried and prostrated to Allah. He feels, how powerful God is. God never disappoints His servant who trusts and believes wholeheartedly in Him.

The letter came from his brother. He also prayed that his brother would still live abroad in good health and gain great fortune. One month later, a pious man who borrowed the money came home and went to the merchant who lent him a thousand dinars. First of all, he apologized for being late so he was late in paying debts. Then, he came. He immediately met with traders who had previously offered a thousand dinars. The merchant said, "Didn't you pay for it?" When? "Didn't you leave it through a piece of wood? Then the merchant told him about the wood found where there were a thousand dinars. Hearing the story, the goodly man immediately said "Subhanallah", Most Holy of Allah!

Hopefully this story can motivate to keep promises, especially in matters of debt or loans we should pay off on time as agreed. If we have the intention to return money (loans or debt) there must be a way. So therefore make it a habit to pay a loan or debt at the agreed time.

Thanks For Your Time

The Best Regards, @ijoel
