Part I

The official mascot for the Winter Olympics 2018 was the tiger cub Sukhoran (수 호랑) , and the Paralympic Olympics 2018 - Pandabi the bear cub (다비) . By the way, the Paralympic Games started on March 9.

As for the Olympic flame, according to traditions, the baton began last year, in October, in Greece, and the fire was brought to the country where the Olympics took place on November 1 of that year. The fire passed 2018 km and 17 cities and suburbs in Korea. 7,500 torchbearers participated in the relay. The fire was delivered to the city of the Olympics themselves on February 9. Unfortunately, the Russian Federation was unable to take part in the 2018 Olympic Games, and those few athletes who were still able to attend the competitions, performed in neutral form under the banner of the UAR (Olympic Athletes from Russia). Last year, on September 13, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) received a request to remove the Russian Federation from participation in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games from 17 anti-doping agencies. And after 3 months, on December 5, by the decision of the IOC, Russia was officially excluded from participating in the OI 2018. It should be noted that in the entire history of the Olympics, doping was the first to cause the country to be excluded from the OI participants list.

Closing ceremony

The Olympic Games ended and the Olympic Flame was handed over to the mayor of Beijing, the capital of China, where the next Winter Olympics will be held in 2022. 307 athletes left South Korea with medals. And 103 of them were gold.
