Vintage Voices - When The Coin Dropped!

Gahhhhh.. Late as usual. But I am going to go ahead and get this done before payout of the post.

Take a picture of something in your home - something vintage, antique, or something sentimental! Give it a voice and tell a story from it's perspective!
Yes, we are just old 50 sen coins. Don't you dare think those fellows on the right, just because they are shinier are worth more than us. We have been around since 1969 and we're still worth a pretty penny. Let us tell you a story in rhyme.
There was this old lady who lived in a flat
She had 4 children, so she worked crazy mad
She diligently collected us for those rainy days
Don't be surprised, we helped in many, many ways
She piled us high and filled empty Pringles' cans
She once bought air conditioners with us, oh man
Her kids used to flick us, quietly on the side
She knew of their antics but let it gently slide
Once when they told her, about what they had done
She said she'd rather her, then from a stranger's fund
She continued to collect us til the day her ticket came
She left us behind, we are now anybody's game!
So here we will wait, fumes making us high
No more mulitplying, for she said goodbye
Who will love us now, we wonder with a sigh
Our time will come, No! we will not cry
Mum collected these copper-nickel 50 cent coins as far back as I can remember. She would fill up containers and this 4 litre Chivas Swing Bottle was the last one she was collecting in before she passed on.
It sits there in the corner, half filled as a reminder. Til today, I continue to feel guilty if I had to use a 50 cent coin. So I now have my own collection piling up.

i collect coins from the 60s too, hoping one day that 50 cents will turn to few thousand. then i will sell it 😁 hopefully its a realistic idea. I heard of ppl that pays to collect them

Giving a voice to inanimate objects is a mind exercise. This contest should have some very thoughtful and intriguing entries like yours!

Very creative! I would have wrote a story about where the money has been. It makes me think of a song by Sticky Fingaz Ft Raekwon - Money Talks. It's an ingenious song and if vulgar songs aren't your cup of tea - don't look it up! But even if you don't like rap music - the creativity is undeniable!
