Wednesday Walk: An afternoon walk by the river, เดินเล่นตอนบ่ายที่ริมแม่น้ำ

This is my entry for #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay. This week the temperature has been rising towards 40 degree Celsius. So, I had to run to the riverside to cool down. The best time to be there was late afternoon so that I could catch the sunset as well.

I decided to queue up for the free boat ride to AsiaTique why is a huge shopping complex built out of the old warehouses. There were several Korean tourists waiting for the boat in front of the queue. We had to wait for about 20 minutes at the pier. This gave me enough time to enjoy the sunset by the river.

อากาศสัปดาห์นี้ร้อนมาก จนเกือบเป็นหวัดแดด เพราะต้องเข้าออกระหว่างห้องที่มีแอร์เย็นจัดกับภาวะแดดแรงข้างนอก เราจึงตัดสินใจไปคลายร้อนที่ริมแม่นํ้าตอนบ่ายๆ เพื่อจะได้ดูพระอาทิตย์ตกดินด้วย
เราก็ถือโอกาสนั่งเรือเล่นไปเที่ยวเอเชียติค ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่มีร้านอาหารร้อยกว่าร้าน และมีร้านขายของเหมือนกับที่สยามหลายร้อยร้าน เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวใหม่ที่สร้างจากโกดังเก่าที่เคยเป็น ที่ขึ้นลงของจากเรือขนส่งสินค้าที่จอดเรียงรายริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาในอดีต เราต้องยืนเข้าคิวคอยเรือประมาณยี่สิบนาที มีนักท่องเที่ยงชาวเกาหลีที่มากันเป็นครอบครัวหลายคน ยืนอยู่แถวหน้าเลย เรือแล่นประมาณยี่สิบนาทีก็ถึงจุดหมาย

The boat trip was very exciting and exhilarating as the water level is high after the full moon, and the driver was very skillful. The little boat was running cross current creating lots of splashes and the speed was quite fast as the breezes just rushed through the boat cooling everyone down. I loved to see the incessant waves hitting the side of the boat! I imagined a single mistake could capsize this boat with all its passengers. We were right in the middle of the river traveling at the speed of about fifty kilos an hour with bigger boats passing by regularly! These big boats made very high waves which kept on destabilizing our small boat. Luckily we arrived safely at AsiaTique, thanks to the skills of the boat crews.

เราชอบดูคลื่นที่มากระทบกับเรือ ทำให้มีละอองน้ำกระจายไปทั่ว ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงน้ำขึ้น คลื่นลูกใหญ่มาก เรือลำน้อยนี้แล่นไปกลางแม่น้ำ ผ่าคลื่นลูกโตๆ ที่เกิดจากเรือลำใหญ่ที่แล่นผ่านไปมา. คนขับเรือใีความสามารถสูงมาก และมีสติดีมากในการตัดสินใจ การประมาทเพียงน้อยนิดก็สามารถทำให้เรือเสียศูนย์ได้ แต่พวกเราก็ถึงจุดหมายปลายทางด้วยดี อากาศยังร้อนอยู่ ลมแรงๆริมแม่น้ำทำให้เรารู้สึกดีขึ้นมาก เรามาเดินเล่นริมแม่น้ำนั้นเหมาะแล้ว
