Wednesday Walk: IconSiam by the river at night, ไอคอนสยามในยามค่ำ
This is my entry for #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay. Last month, April was the hottest month in Thailand. I had to go on boat trips along the river a few times to escape from the unbearable heat.
These photos were taken during my night time trip to IconSiam, the newest and biggest shopping complex in Thailand. I could not cover all the shops in one visit. So, my goal was to visit the biggest iStudio in Bangkok and to enjoy myself watching light reflections on buildings and water.
The entrance foyer is impressive and grand with special lightings and design on the high ceiling. There are all the famous brand names’ shops on the first two floors. I often find these fashionable costumes and accessories not suitable for our hot climate and lifestyle. Besides these goods are exorbitantly expensive and unnecessary so I do not pay much attention to these shops.
เดือนก่อนอากาศร้อนมาก จนเราต้องออกไปเที่ยวทางน้ำหลายรอบ ทำให้มีโอกาสไปสำรวจที่ที่ยังไม่เคยไป เราจคงไปไอคอนสยามตอนกลางคืน เพื่อถ่ายรูปแสงสะท้อนในเวลากลางคืน และไปถ่ายรูปภายในไอคอนสยามด้วย โดยเฉพาะบริเวณทางเข้าที่มีการตกแต่งด้วยไฟที่ออกแบบให้ เหมือนดอกไม้ไทยอย่างดอกมะลิ และเราก็ไปแวะมี่ร้านไอสตูดิโอด้วย ที่นี่เป็นร้านที่โหญ่ที่สุด แต่ก็มีคนเดินกันเต็มร้านทีเดียว เราชอบชั้นสี่ที่มีลานกว้างมากให้คนมานั่งเล่นกินลม ลมจากแม่นำ้พัดแรงมาก เขาออกแบบได้ดีมาก โดยใช้แผ่นแก้วขนาดใหญ่ทำเป็นขอบตรงที่ยื่นไปทางแม่น้ำ ทำให้คนสามารถถ่ายรูปแม่น้ำ และเรือที่ผ่านไปมา แต่เราจะเห็นแสงสะท้อนของอาคารไอคอนสยามติดอยู่ในรูปภาพด้วย ดูแล้วแปลกตาไปอีกแบบ

Many young people came here to take photos of the river at night and take their selfies. Many elderly people living nearby have been coming here for their evenjng walk and enjoying the river view.

That's a pretty impressive shopping complex! I love the light fixture in the fifth picture. It's really beautiful. I'm sure you're used to it, but I'm sorry about the heat. I'm pretty sure I would wither and die immediately. The last shot with the blue reflection on the water is so lovely too.
Oh! You are very sensitive to heat! It took me a year to get used to the heat here but nowadays the heat is artificial, more like microwave heat, partly dues to the sun and a big hole in the earth atmosphere!

I'm not a fan of the heat either. Cruising along the river is a good way to cool down. Some people pay a high price for fashion don't they. I hope you get some respite from the humidity soon.
Thank you very much for your comment. The weather has been cooling down during the last few days. Rain has started to pour down in the north, hopefully this will solve the problems of drought this year! The heat had dried up several reservoirs and ponds this year! Both wild animals and villagers suffer from shortage of drinking water!! This is quite a rare occurrence.
Some people are so lucky to have money to burn by buying brand names’ products. Different ways to find happiness! I have to save some money for building a rain water gathering system in my garden!

Hi! Actually April is the hottest month! That’s why we have the water throwing festival in mid-April!.
June is the start of the rainy season! The heat has subsided a bit during the last few days. There are more rainy storms in the north this week. So, it will cool us down a bit!
