Empty box - A Inspirational Story

Some students receiving management education were told about developing problem solving skills. After a while teaching, the professor gave the children a solution to a case study.

A soap manufacturer in Japan was known for its quality and world-class processes. But today a strange problem arose in front of him, he got a complain that when a customer bought a soap box, he was empty. When the compliant was investigated, the lapse was done by the company itself, when the assembly was sent to the Soap Delivery Department from the assembly line, only one box was left empty.

The incident caused considerable misery of the company. The company officials were upset that how did this happen. Immediately a high level meeting was convened, a thorough discussion was taken, and in future there would be no such incident, people were asked for measures. After much deliberation, it was decided that an X-ray machine will be installed at the end of the assembly line, which will be connected to a high resolution monitor. The person sitting in front of the monitor will see that the box is empty or filled.

Within a few days the system was implemented, but when a small rank employee found out the problem, he solved this problem in a very cheap and easy way. One way that did not cost the purchase of a machine for millions and no need to keep a man.

Think if you had these problems, what would you do?

The man did this - he bought a high power electrical fan and placed it in front of the assembly line, now every one box has to pass through the front of the fan's strong wind and as soon as an empty box comes out in the front of fan wind, the wind throws it away.

Friends, this kind of solution is called Out of the Box or Creative Thinking and the best part is that it has nothing to do with book knowledge. Every one of us can solve our problems in simple ways, but perhaps we get hold of the solution that comes first in the our mind.
