Philippine's Indian Mango

in #esteem6 years ago

Here in the Philippines, we call this smaller variety of mango "Indian Mango". And at this time of the year (summer), Indian mangoes are at their peak right now, you would see some falling of the trees. It's my favorite summer fruit, specially if its about to get ripe. I could eat half a dozen of these mangoes with some rock salt or shrimp paste (bagoong).

You can find many varieties of mangoes in the Philippine but this one, Indian Mangoes, are less commercially popular but most of the houses in provinces have this tree at their backyard. It is rounded in shape almost similar to the apple but with a bit elongation. The fruit is so versatile that it can even be eaten together with your regular meal as a side dish accompanied by other vegetables like tomatoes.

Here's some of the freshly picked Indian mangoes last weekend. 😋😊
