Autumn ended abruptly with a blanket of snow.

If it is not baking hot or choking polluted then it is snowing in Seoul. This Saturday, the same morning the snow hit, our city's biggest cell phone server went down. Unfortunately that was my server. A huge part of the city of Seoul was down. We couldn't use the bank ATM machines because they were connected by internet. We couldn't pay by credit card because the card machines were connected to internet. The blackout went on for more than a day and was caused by a basement fire about two kilometers from my house.

I didn't need to read the news report. I could just look at my cell phone all weekend and read "no service".

I don't know if the snow storm had anything to do with the fire but they happened at the same time. Look at the power of this wind and snow that just took us by surprise.

Just a day before those persimmon trees were dancing in the colors of fall leaves. No one expected winter to hit so fast. That's just how it happened. Everything was blanketed in a coat of white. Now the birds can enjoy frozen persimmons.

The bus couldn't make it up the hill to our house so I really got a chance to experience the snow in my face. I know the snow is for dogs and for children but when I asked my sons to go out they said they would rather stay inside. So with no wifi and no cell phone signal we spent the whole weekend reading books and drawing pictures.

Here is the view from our window. Ironically the Sunday message was 1 Kings 19. The message was not in the wind or the earthquake or the fire. The message was in the gentle whisper.

For a few hours everything was blanketed in snow.

I'm glad our phone service is back up and banks are working now. I don't know why KT the telephone company didn't think of getting a back up tower for the central part of the city. I don't even know if this snow storm had anything to do with the fire but they happened at the same time and I haven't been able to post all these snow pictures yet because I haven't had any wifi or telephone service.

It's been a year since I've been on Steemit and I would never comment that I've been on another social media network for one year. It is just a matter of fact, but Steemit still has great potential.

1 Kings 19:12-13

...And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

That's really the message in the gentle whisper: "What are you doing here?"
