Update on my status sitting out hurricane florence
I wanted to give an update to all of my fellow steemians who have been sending me good vibes while riding out this hurricane. Apparently the good vibes helped because we are nearly thru it now and besides for loosing power and water we are doing good.
(I will add pictures when I get a little bit better of an internet connection.)
We had been preparing for hurricane florence for the better part of a week and it definitely paid off being prepared.
After more then 36 hours of high winds, relentless rain and tornado's it is finally feeling like the worst of it is finally over this morning.
The winds were coming in strong Thursday night at 80 - 90mph along with heavy sheets of rains. The electricity went out thursday at about 745pm eastern time but we were prepared for that too, we had a generator all ready to go with plenty of extra gas. We got to watch some news whenever DTV would give us a signal and apparently there are over a 800,000 people in without power!
We also lost our water last night, we have 50 gallons of purified drinking water plus 100 gallons of tap water so it's not the end of the world. We can still even use the toilets we just have to fill them manually everytime we flush, no big deal.
On top of the regular hurricane conditions we also had a bunch of tornados in our area but thankfully weren't in a direct path of any of them. Although we did keep getting tornado warnings and watches so that was a bit stressful, especially late at night when its pitch black and raining and we had no way of seeing them coming.
We had a few downed trees in our yard but luckily enough no damage to our house or vehicles so that is awesome. Our culverts were filling fast Friday, they were nearly to the top and with the rivers flooding out all around us and the rain still coming down extremely hard we still were a bit concerned until this morning when we woke up and they had gone down about half way.
I did a few videos I was going to post on dtube but our internet is so slow I can't upload the videos right now so I will have to wait on that right now..
Anyhow, I just wanted everyone to know we are fine after the hurricane and once again thank everyone for all the good vibes they sent, it obviously helped us get through this safely 😎✌

We had Irma last yeah which was only like 5 hours but still was the killer of our whole island in that time.
Glad the preparation did what it had to do, and that you can relax a bit and start with damage control!!
