Nikki’s flowers

I remember the day I made these photos,
It was a perfect summer’s day.
We hung out at the beach with friends,
Then in their garden just meters from the beach.

The sound of the ocean was the perfect backdrop to the laughter and chatter, whilst we dined together.
Gigantic sunflowers proudly adorned the edge of the garden; they seemed to gaze at us.
I called them Nikki’s flowers; supermarket seedlings that the 12 year old nurtured with love - which now shared their splendor.

The sunflowers overshadowed even red roses - due to their height and beauty.
We were not the only ones attracted to them.
As I captured the moment with my trusty iPhone, the bees were undisturbed by my presence – existing in perfect mutualism.
