Whaleshares - What's the difference?

By now many have heard of Whaleshares. If you are one of the few that hasn't then this post is definitely for you.
When I learnt about Whaleshares - I was sceptical to join a Steemit look-a-like. However later I thought it would not hurt to find out what it is all about. I am happy that I was curious. There is no harm spreading one's wings. The platforms are not exactly the same as I will describe below.
What is Whaleshares?
Whaleshares is social sharing platform that allows users to share and get rewarded for contributions.
Yes - it is social media as engaging is what it is all about. If your content is appreciated you will be rewarded via upshares (upvote).
How are you rewarded?
Upshares translates to Whaleshares token (WLS) which are traded on Rudex.
Moving WLS to your Wallet creates influence token called Whalestakes. This is the same as powering up on Steemit. However, unlike Steemit, Whaleshares can be earned more readily via contests, shows, lotteries or curation. The rewards are paid either in Whale tokens or Community tokens.

These token are not tradeable but can be used to reward your Whaleshares post with WLS. To do so a Bitshares account is needed or via Rudex
Crossposting
At present, crossposting is allowed and can be done via Masdacs. This will be handy for those of us who are simply too busy.
There are no Bid Bots or delegation
For those of us who do not like bid bots you will be pleased. There is also no delegation of your Whalestakes allowed.

The communities are great and you will find that it easy to socialise with Whalers. The Whales are very accessible as well.
Growing is easier because of the contests etc. where you can earn tokens. It is all up to you and the amount of effort you put into it.
