From Blangjruen to Peusangan Forming PUSA

Once upon a time, in the Dutch era, there was a large table held at the Blangjruen soccer field. The speaker is Prof. Abdul Malik Karim Amrallah, or better known as Hamka. He is from Padang.

Sahib's history does not mention to me when the grand tablig was held. But, I, who had little information regarding the events surrounding the grand tablig, suspected that it was carried out in 1938.

This is because, when the missionary took place, Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah, Uleebalang Keureutoe, was already at his house in Blangjruen (precisely in the village of Teungku Di Balee). Whereas in previous years he was still transferred to Kutarajaia because he was involved in a dispute with the Dutch controller Swart in Lhoksukon.

His position as Uleebalang Keureutoe was temporarily removed, then given to Ampon Chik Raja Sabi, son of Cut Nyak Meutia and her husband Ampon Chik Cut Muhammad.

However, in early 1938, Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah was returned to Blangjruen. And, the position of Uleebalang Keureutoe was also returned to him. Because of the vacant position, Ampon Raja Sabi later by Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah was given a new task, namely managing the Islamic school Bustanul Maarif (sikula Abuek Langgeeh) which had just been built for a community school in Blangjruen.

Well, around that last condition is the tablig akbar Prof. Hamka on the Blangjruen soccer field may be held.

Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah also attended the mission. He departed from his home in the village of Teungku Di Balee by using a horse cart. Most likely, in one of the danong, Prof. Hamka, Ampon Raja Sabi, and Tgk. Ismail Yakob.

The latter was a Monk, Aron, who was schooled by Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah to the Normal Islamic school in Padang. At that time he had just returned home and helped Ampon Raja Sabi manage the Bustanul Maarif school in Blangjruen.

On top of the danong, they were all involved in a discussion that was certainly very scientific. From that discussion, the word sahib history told me, the idea arose to form an ulama organization in Aceh.

But, Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah will not be able to realize that, because any organization formed by him, is certainly quite difficult to get permission from the Dutch government. He, as I said above, never got along with the Dutch controller Swart in Lhoksukon. So the Dutch were suspicious of him.

Thought to have thought, finally the idea was delegated to his in-laws, namely Ampon Chik Peusangan Muhammad Johansyah. So a year later, 1939, in a madrasa called Almuslim in Matang Geuleumpang Dua, an ulama organization was formed called PUSA, the Association of All Aceh Ulama.

Its chairman unanimously fell to Tgk Muhammad Daud Beureueh. Acting as his representative, Tgk. Abdurrahman Meunasah Meucap. While Ampon Chik Peusangan himself, became the protector of the organization.

Shortly afterwards, a number of small organizations were born under PUSA: Scouting PUSA, which was commandeered by Ayah Gani; Muslimat PUSA, driven by Omi Asma (Tgk Mohammad Daud Beureueh's second wife); then stood the Normal Islamic school in Bireuen chaired by M Nur El Ibrahimy (son-in-law of Tgk. Muhammad Daud Beureueh); and, not to forget, also formed the PUSA Youth organization led by Amir Husen Almujahid from Idi.

In 1946, this Amir Husin Almujahid, chairman of the PUSA Youth, moved the Social Revolution with his forces called TPR, Tentara Perjuangan Rakyat. From East Aceh to Banda Aceh, it moved to clear the Uleebalang-uleebalang. In Keureutoe, Ampon Chik Muhammad Basyah and Ampon Raja Sabi were among those taken and then killed ...!
