CTM is an antihistamine called Chlorpheniramine maleate. This is classified into first-generation antihistamines, which can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and cause side effects of drowsiness in the sufferer. Antihistamine is a drug to treat allergic symptoms, by inhibiting histamine substances.

True side effects of chlorpheniramine can cause drowsiness. However, the effect will not be as much as sleeping pills like alprazolam.

If you want to use this medicine to help you sleep, you can use another antihistamine called diphenhydramine with a dose of 1 tablet, 30 minutes before bedtime.

However, if you want to use an antihistamine drug without drowsiness, you can use a drug containing loratadine or cetirizine.
