Popular Mainstream Content creators screwed Steem Network
As I am sitting in the coffee shop working on some of my photos, thinking about some stuff to record new videos and create original content.
I have decided to go and scroll a little bit on my feed to see what You guys are all up to. Navigate to see what is going on in the hot and trending section.
Then this thought came to my mind:
"where are all the BIG mainstream creators that have joined us when Steem and SBD worth more than $10?"
Why are they not posting their content in here anymore?
Have they even told their audiences on their mainstream platforms about us?
Was worth to give them so much support just to show them that they can make good money in here?
Will they come back when the market goes up?
Have they give anything back to the community or did they just came and took it?
Do You feel stupid now that You see they actually never cared about the Steem Network but only their own pockets?
So many questions... And as I sit here I would love to argument this with all of You. Because I think it would be such a "fun" and heated conversation.
In my opinion they came here and just took advantage of the community but let's have this conversation on the comments bellow.

I had the same thoughts in the last days. I am extremely new in cryptocurrencies, and learned a lot when DLive left Steem. And I think HF20 did the rest. Investors aren't interested in the community. They want a fast ROI.
But what I feel is that a lot of that people that join don't even know about the blockchain and how it works.. They just wanted the quick income and then shit on us. 😪💩

I agree with you. But how to avoid of them?
I think dapps should reach them and offer them kind of a sponsorship where they will offer them big upvotes in exchange for them to promote the dapp on their mainstream accounts where they have a huge following.

I agree! I think the one good thing that has come from this crypto crash is who is here for not just the long haul but for the community and the platform.
I saw a few "bigger" channels back when the price was much higher and they would shit talk platforms like youtube and such and say how much better dtube and steemit were and get lots of bigger upvotes from whales and the dapps. I guess the bigger accounts were hoping that by doing this these new influences would bring more people to the platform but as soon as the crash happened they cashed out and disappeared.
Ive been posting on here for almost a year now and I know many other like myself are still here and supporting the community but the sad truth is that when the price does go up just like others have said those people that left will come back and make up an excuse as to why they left and probably be getting big upvotes again.
Yeah it is the sad reality. Well hopefully the next time this happen users like us need to have the balls and go to their content call their shit off or as I said somewhere else the dapps will approach them in a different way with sponsorships for advertisement 😉 like we give you big upvotes when you post a video about us on your YouTube with hundreds of thousands of followers inviting them to register and follow You in here 😉

I also think that in order to help combat that from happening we need to upvote and reward not just the content creators who are already and still here but the people putting out good content. Its one thing to have a bunch of small accounts calling people out but its another to have larger content creators who have been here through doing it.
Yeah I wish I had a bigger influence to make this point to get heard by more people. But we need to start somewhere and we shouldn't be silent about it.

They will come back when Steem is up, and the whales and dApp owners will vote them at 100% again, just like before.

Honestly I can't name them now.. Because none of the ones that joined here I knew from before but a lot of people in the community knew them and I checked their social media presence back then when they joined.. But for sure @adetorrent can name them 😉 he have a good memory. I know who they are if I see they but I don't even know their names lllolll

There’s loads of just regular people that also left when the price dropped hey. I joined and the DTube 20% vote was around 80-90 dollars I think steem was at 3.5 dollars. So many people have stopped posting even since then, I made a few vids a while back about how steem doesn’t need these “fair weather friends” they take and never bring value! Really grips my shit! Ah well all we can do really is just steem on and have fun making content I guess.

I do not mind them coming in and bringing them content but also I think they should give something to the community that is giving them money for their content by promoting and bringing in their audience here 😉

They will be back and pretend to be friends again. Now is a good time to see who the real community builders are.
But when they come back, people will flock to them again - because they have the $$$
They do have the money but I think the big dapps that can do business with them should do some kind of Sponsorship to make sure they will promote their apps in exchange of big upvotes. Not just blindly give them huge upvotes.

I had this very thought, precisely why I am so proud of my Partiko Partnership and their sponsorship of my Ask Me Anything Contest.
The problem of them returning to grace needs to be approached by the dapps that choose to support them, if these individuals wish to gain support they must show support in my opinion! Not just appreciation for the dapps and votes but actual support such as delegations which adds to the dapps ability to spread that vote even further!

Yeah I think the dapps and the community in here the next time we get some bigger content creator from the mainstream world to join us will have to look at them and act with a different technique... Because otherwise I think this will keep happening.
