Prague - City Tour

Prague, its continuous settlement dates from the Early Paleolithic to the Latin period. Church of Sts. St. Nicholas , the colloquial church of St. Nicholas, is a Baroque building on Malostranské Square from 1704-1755. Today there is an exhibition called "Prague Bells" representing the surrounding towers with their bells, the history of bells, the production of bells and legends with bells connected.

The Old Town Bridge Tower is considered to be one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Europe. It was built together with Charles Bridge, the builder Peter Parler. You will find it at the entrance to the Charles Bridge from Charles Street. Inside, an 18-minute long film, Charles Bridge, is projected - a century-long ray, astronomical and astrological contexts of its origins.

Lesser Town Bridge Towers is actually a pair of stylishly different, unevenly high towers, connected by a gateway, forming the entrance to Charles Bridge on the left, Lesser Town, the Vltava River from Mostecká Street. Inside there is the exhibition "On bridge over the bridge" mapping the historical attractions of the bridge, the flood, the character of Bradáč or the original of Bruncvík's sword and the like.

The Powder Gate is a late Gothic building at the Na Příkopech Square and Republiky Square. In the tower there is a permanent exhibition "The King's Court", depicting life in medieval Prague. The first floor offers a cross-section of the city's history, the second floor is the history of its own Powder Gate. On the third floor there is an exhibition of enlarged reproductions with illuminations from the Wenceslas IV Bible.

The Petřín lookout tower , over 60 meters above sea level, forms one of the dominant city. In her basement there is a permanent exhibition "Jára Cimrman, a genius who has not celebrated". The nearby Mirror Maze is a traditional place for families and children. A part of the maze building is a panorama depicting the "Combat with the Swedes on the Charles Bridge" by the Liebscher Brothers.

The Dominican Monastery was built in the 17th century by the St. Jiljí , located on the site of the original church from the 13th century. Today it is possible to admire its massive walls and characteristic windows. Inside the church there are beautiful baroque frescoes by Václav Vavřinec Reiner, sculptures, paintings, altars and other works of art by leading authors working in Prague.

The Prague Castle, the seat of princes, kings, emperors and presidents, is also a symbol of the city. But the greatest magnet is the Astronomical Clock, which shows, for example, the positions of celestial bodies, a calendar, moving figures, or the procession of twelve apostles scrolling every hour.

Vysehrad is a significant historic fortification above the right bank of the Vltava River. The original royal fort from the second half of the 10th century has grown over the centuries into an extensive complex including, among others , Petra and Pavla , the burial ground of deserved Czech personalities with Slavín , St. Basil's Cathedral, Vavřince, rotunda Sv. Martina or Vysehradské sady.
