A flower, sometimes known as bloom or bloom, is a reproduction of structures found in flowering plants (a plant of the Magnoliophyta division, also called angiosperms). The biological function of interest is to produce reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the unification of sperm with eggs. Flowers can facilitate the crossing (sperm and egg fusion of different individuals in a population) or allow selfing (sperm and egg fusion of the same flower). Some flowers produce diaspora without fertilization (partenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are a site in developing managametofit. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, thus causing them to be vectors for pollen transfer. After fertilization, the flower ovary develops into a fruit containing seeds.
