The company in question is Expedia. Expedia recently stopped accepting Bitcoin (BTC) as a payment method for hotels or flights.

A spokeswoman for Expedia confirmed that our service "no longer accepts BTC digital currency," starting from June 10, 2018, we apologize for the "inconvenience caused." This service does not comment on cancellations either on social media or from its website.

Many consumers express their contempt for the latest news, then they suggest a number of alternatives to Expedia, such as CheapAir travel services, which begin receiving payments using cryptocurrency for flights and hotel reservations in 2013.

Reddit notes that the majority of employees in the IT industry tend to get a portion of their salary in crypto currency, so the expedition company will potentially lose some of its customers.

"Now, one of the biggest sites to book flights / hotels that receive payments using Bitcoin for years has removed the payment options ... I went there to see flights and see them no longer accept them. They say they stopped accepting it on June 10 ... Many of us in the technology industry get some of the salary in the form of Bitcoin and it is great to use Expedia in flight. I will not use them again! "Said one of its customers.

As reported by Cointelegraph earlier this year, the extreme volatility of the crypto market does not seem to make some industry afraid to provide payment options using
cryptocurrency, even some of them prefer to pay a fully paid salary using Bitcoin.

Expedia first announced it would accept Bitcoin as a form of payment in June 2014, when the expedition company worked with Coinbase, a leading crypto exchange market. Some community members suggested that they cancel receiving payments using Bitcoin because of Coinbase's decision to suspend custodial solutions for merchants, which would seem to cause Bitcoin's payments to be more difficult. The previously mentioned CheapAir Competitor switches to BitPay from Coinbase for this reason.

In an open letter to customers seeking feedback on potential merchant solutions, CheapAir CEO Jeff Klee writes that the company needs a "reliable processing partner" to receive payments in Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dash, and Litecoin (LTC).
