Why do you cry as if someone died?
Your dream shattered, you gone astray?
Enough now, why not give it another try?

Such unsightly face, looking so wry.
Life is like that but efforts do pay...
So why do you cry as if someone died?

Will you fulfill your dream if you cry?
Try harder, things will not always go your way.
As such, why not give it another try?

Your weak will is making me sigh...
With such attitude fortune won't stay.
Again, why do you cry as if someone died?

Will you stay like that till the end is nigh?
Don't be absurd! Doing it like that is not okay!
Come now! Why not give it another try?

Say what you want but do not tell a lie.
Everyone could see that your world is gray.
So there is no need cry as if someone died.
Life's full of failures, just give it another try!

What is a Villanelle?

 

A villanelle (also known as villanesque) is a nineteen-line poetic form consisting of five tercets followed by a quatrain. There are two refrains and two repeating rhymes, with the first and third line of the first tercet repeated alternately until the last stanza, which includes both repeated lines. The villanelle is an example of a fixed verse form. The word derives from Latin, then Italian, and is related to the initial subject of the form being the pastoral.
