USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Poloniex (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily average which came out to:

  • STEEM: $5.32677
  • SBD: $6.8955

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $4.79688
  • SBD: $5.19634

Assumptions

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Linked Accounts

hitbtc includes hitbtc-exchange and hitbtc-payout, freewallet.org includes freewallet, and openledger includes openledger-dex.

Commentary

  • The withdrawal to deposit ratio came down further to 2.42 to 1.

  • @dan had a nice pay day at $2.1M last week. I wonder what he's doing with all that money.

  • Seems @ned loaded up @firefire 7 months ago, so maybe that's his account or a contractor he hired or something. Interesting stuff.

  • We see @z8teyb289qav9z on the list agian this week which looks to me to be like a random wallet address. Pretty cool. As I wrote about recently, STEEM is not Steemit, so I like seeing evidence of people using it like a cryptocurrency with anonymous wallets.

  • @skan sure likes this place to the tune of $1.2. Pretty cool. :)

  • The decline in people powering down next week is 2.2% in the green compared to the previous week (so basically the same), but I'm seeing some ~nan STEEM on there, so take it with a grain of salt.

Withdrawal/Deposit ratio coming down is a good sign. Don't know what's going on with Dan and Ned. They do not seem happy with each other and Dan seems to be onto something big.

Very good information and well organized... Thank you for your work @lukestokes

Recently I saw a technical analysis with elliot waves that indicates that the SBD could be valued at $36 in a few months... So let's save SBD :)

Greetings my friend :D

Thanks for information and analysis Mr @lukestokes !

Amazing overview I like that @maanabdullah (Website Designer , Crypto Guru)

This post is helpful for us..Thanks for sharing...
Carry on your activity.best of luck..

Really? @firefire is suspected to be @ned’s account.?? Why would he do that, i wonder..

About the post in general, it seems like you are doing a wonderful job as steem witness. More power to you ^_^

Please don't assume. I was just speculating. Maybe only Ned knows for sure. I still think it's worth keeping an eye on the big numbers moving around.

I am not going to assume. Thats speculation.. my apologies if my comment suggested otherwise.
And yes.. following the money trail can reveal some big dark secrets ;)

The information is interesting but I wonder about its meaning. For instance, what does it mean when big players cash out huge sums of Steem daily? Does that help of hurt the community?

If behavior like that happened in the stock market, it would raise all sorts of red flags, but in the case of steemit it seems like the major players are cashing our on the interest earned by holding Steem, which apparently is millions of dollars per week. Its hard to makes sense of what it all means from a big picture standpoint. Anyone have any thoughts?

I shared some thoughts on the very first post in this series about what it might mean. Please give that a read and see if it answers any questions.

I took a look. Seems like a positive thing

Whales selling distributes STEEM/SBD to more people which decreases the centralized wealth problem. As long as it doesn't flood the market of course.

The Company Selling for operations costs ...etc. That makes sense.

Crypto in general is so new that I'm still trying to understand everything. I often wonder how some of these crypto projects are going to generate revenue long term in order to sustain themselves. Many do not seem to have that figured out yet other than paying their employees in their own token and selling them to the market as they increase in value - thats not really sustainable. Anyway, that's another topic though.

Cool cool. Thanks for the info.

You're welcome!

D'link...d'link...Please...thank you!

Great post!

To all: Does anyone have an opinion about freewallet? The only reviews I could find are months old.

Peace.

This is amazing...
I really need to invest

Thanks for letting us aware of this.

Thank you for the report Luke!
Oh just checked dans wallet and noticed that he is powering down.
Or is this nothing new? Haha at least I didn't know that
