I personally want to hear more confidence restoring talk and learn more about the current plan. I'm also hoping to hear some ideas about monetisation of the blockchain.
I think we will learn a lot tonight (Dutch time).
Timeline
Yesterday @ned posted a timeline (not hard to miss its pinned on steemit.com, nice feature!) of development for the next 3-4 months. Check it out here.
The first priority is to lower the cost of the nodes. I am all in favour of this because it will decentralise the blockchain a lot. It will also be much more affordable for anyone that needs a full node to afford one.
With this announcement they also passed on the offer @blocktrades made. At first I wasn't sure because the offer was about witness servers and not full nodes. But @blocktrades confirmed.
Another important announcement from the post is that SMT's are not of the table as I expected. That's great news for apps that were building a business around them.
They will not be as full featured as previously promised at first.
From the post:
The scaled-down SMTs scope includes these features: claiming names, tokens, issuance of tokens to one account, transfers between accounts, immutability (meaning that once a token is launched none of its original parameters can be altered) and a testnet.
But it's a good start and later other features will be added.

I think it is really great that they posted the timeline. That gives me a little bit of hope that they are really planning to move forward with fixing things. Now hopefully they can stick to it. A lot of times in the crypto world deadlines end up getting pushed...

You have to admit @exyle the show we are experiencing through @steemit is enjoyable, even if it gets worrisome at times.
TV dramas get worrisome too, for people that are involved in watching the show.
I personally find the live streams with @ned, the up and down price action and the challenge of @steemit making Steem mainstream to be an incredible drama that I'm happy to be a part of.
Let's all hope it has a happy ending, and it just might turn out to be the greatest show I've seen.

Haha, give them a pass. This is important :). Also, saw that you are growing a board. Enjoy that journey. It's not always easy. You often will feel like just get rid of the thing, but in the end it's all worth it. Sorta like Steem :)

About RocksDB, when it's possible to run a full node with only 4 GB RAM, i will definitively run one myself to get some experience.

I mean, show a well structured roadmap to the investors (and potential investors) and spread positivity so more money can start flowing in.

@exyle, This update is really appreciable for sure and in my opinion it's really important to understand the current situations and circumstances and it's really an exciting aspect that more diversified Individuals can come forward and can participate to boost the Steem Economy and to make it more Decentralised. And in my opinion sometimes to receive blessings we have to go through from the pain otherwise we will forget the worth of blessing if everything would be spoon feeding and very simplistic aspect.
