Facebook Has a New Director of Engineering for Blockchain
The social media giant has appointed one of its senior engineers, Evan Cheng, as its first "director of engineering, blockchain." The new position was first reported by TechCrunch and confirmed by Facebook on Thursday.
Informative article about how facebook is moving into the blockchain, looks to me that they're getting more and more serious about crypto and blockchain. I wonder what would happen to steemit if facebook came out with it's own coin and made it usable as money, had partnerships with other companies that would use the coin too. The facebook coin might become the most widely used form of money in the world....

To answer my own question, I think steemit would still have a place as facebook would still be run by a company and not decentralized
