Inventor Of Web: Facebook And Google May Need To Be Broken Up
Tim Berners-Lee, the credited founder of the World Wide Web, believes that Facebook and Google may not need to be broken up.
He is of the opinion that the world needs to see if a smaller, start up competitor can disrupt their business models.
Both are coming under fire because of data breaches and manipulation. Europe recently passed legislation that requires more disclosure by online companies. This is raising the bar for those these industry leaders.

The possibility of small start Ups competitors to disrupt already existing giants like facebook is not an unrealistic one. However, the probability of such hhapening is a bit low. Nevertheless, we can't deny the possibility of this.

The tech giants have been pretty aggressive towards competitors like Minds.com and Gab, removing their apps from the iOS and Android markets, pressuring their payment processors and web/domain hosts.
If Silicon Valley sees you as a threat, they can shut you down.
