A walk in the park

in #family5 years ago

Very near my place in Semenyih is public park called the Ecohill Park, named such as it was built as part of the Setia Ecohill township. Even though the park is just a couple minutes drive from my home, I'm ashamed to say I have not visited it since I moved here in November last year, until now.

After a few days of rain, we finally have a nice sunny evening when I also happen to be on a break from work. There weren't a lot of visitors at the park when we arrived around 5pm-ish, so we almost had the whole park to ourselves.

Although the evening sun was still warm, there were plenty of trees that shaded us from the sunlight. The ambience was serene and the layout of the park well thought out. Although we did find it surprising that even though it's not that old, many of the park equipment was already damaged.

The park's primary path is a concrete walkway that forms a big loop around the park and is shared between pedestrians and cyclists. The path goes up and down following the contour of the hill it was built upon. At the highest point of the loop, it branches out towards the top of the hill which is another short stretch uphill before we reach the top of the park.

A view of the Setia Ecohill township, taken from the highest point of the loop, just before turning towards the path leading to the hill top of the park.

Before we visited, we already read about the scenic view at the top where one could almost see the entire Semenyih town. While I'm certain that I could see further from the top floor of my apartment, but the view was still pretty impressive.

While this is not the biggest nor the nicest park for an evening stroll (My favourite is still the big one in Bandar Seri Permaisuri.), it was still an enjoyable walk with my wife and my 3 year old, who did not complain even once about walking the entire length of the loop plus the detour up the hilltop; the same cannot be said of his old man whose stamina, or the lack thereof, continues to embarrass him.

I'll close this post with a nice panaromic shot of the hill top, enjoy!

Very beautiful views. Sometimes people know how to build but donno how to maintain.

Haha yeah. That's why we can't have nice things....people will somehow break them and then nobody repairs it.
