An Unscheduled Hospital Visit

This was a photo opportunity that I'd rather not have had, a day in the life that I wasn't expecting. I ended up spending the day in the hospital after a family member had to call out an ambulance in the early hours.

I can't believe that this was a year ago now. I made the most of it and took some photographs while I was there to make the waiting less stressful. 😱

I went home that evening anxious and tired and was back first thing the following morning to find things were improving.

Thank goodness!

The cranes in the picture are 2 of the biggest I've ever seen. You can't see all of them as they are standing in a massive hole in the ground. It's all part of a £485 million redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital which is badly needed.

It's currently way too small for the population it serves and some of the buildings are ancient. It's all pretty gloomy and new bits have been tacked on in a haphazard fashion over the years. The site is relatively small though and there's no getting away from that so I'm not sure what they will come up with. Something more integrated one hopes.
