It is often the belief that the foster care child is provided with a nice home and a loving family during their time in CPS foster care. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Strangers are given custody of these young babies and are often placed in perilous conditions. Addictions, violence, substandard living conditions, opportunity, education and social surroundings enslave children. Many become numb, take unwanted abuse while other run away and live on the streets or are picked up by a child trafficking ring. Either way their lives deteriorate and scars set in.

I bring you a personally inspired written poem entitled 'Rescue Me' in which we hear the helpless voice of a 5 year old child as they suffer physical and mental abuse and ends up sleeping in a bug infested home. Such is uncalled for, yet can happen when placed in the care of the CPS foster care system.

Let's listen to this small voice crying in the night.

Rescue Me

Oh so weary, weathered worn
Taken, tattered and now... torn
Sleepless, scattered, is my head
wooden floor makes my bed.
Stolen dreams are plucked away
Filthy schemes have entered play.
Kidnapped hopes once to be
Oh come dear mom and rescue me.

Traumatized and in distress
sold and stashed by CPS
Helpless now, bugs are my bed
Infested lies the path I tread.
Oh where is mom and where is dad
Oh justice come! Was I that bad?
I am but five, my age you see.
Come sweet Jesus, rescue me.

Three weeks, a month, or three or four,
My soul is tired, can't take no more!
The words and whip, that grip my pain
The hollow fostered empty stain
That scars a child most innocent.
From play to prey, the memory went.
Aren't I worthy to be free?
Come someone....and rescue me!

The hard reality is that no child should go though this devastating trauma by the CPS. Children matters. Tomorrow matters as our children ARE tomorrow. They need rescuing. There are kind folks who are gathering and fighting for families and children. Groups like @familyprotection speak out in protection of justice and an end to enslavement. They want all families to truly be free. I encourage you to support the folks @familyprotection as they work hard to stand for children and freedom.
