Caring for our children's minds

From the moment we are born and I dare say that even before we all begin the learning stage as if our mind were a new notebook waiting to record its first teachings. The first teachings represent the root of our formation determining the language, the language and other things that we learn imitating our elders. Learning at an early age will promote the development of the child, encouraging his or her motor, social and intellectual formation. Many times we ignore this truth and act incorrectly in front of children and even treat them incorrectly, so today I want to write an article to reflect and ensure that the future is made up of people with healthy minds.

An Absorbing Mind

There is evidence to show that the development of intelligence, personality and social behaviour in human beings occurs most rapidly during the early years. Many think of children as innocent little people who need minimal attention, but their minds are so young and naive that they need us most to guide them and lay the foundation for a citizen with a healthy social attitude.

We must take into account that when in the middle of learning stage they tend to imitate everything they see and hear, in other words they will imitate our behavior. We must avoid arguments, shouting, bad words and bad attitudes towards them because their mind is in a delicate state can create marks that affect their personality in the long term.

In addition to our acts we must take care of the environment in which they develop and never let them spend more time watching tv programs than with us because it seems a trend today that mothers want to get rid of their children leaving them abandoned in a tv program that was not previously supervised and therefore it is unknown if it is something healthy for the learning of the child, mothers sometimes only want free time but do not understand that children are a responsibility that they can not abandon, nature itself teaches us through the animals that good mothers do not abandon their children until they have learned what is necessary to fend for themselves, however in our generation are more and more mothers who entrust the mind of their children to a TV program, we must keep in mind that to say that it is a children's program is not necessarily so because there are malicious programs with hidden messages that disrupt the formation of children.

According to Piaget, during the first 3 years of life children are like "sponges", since they absorb everything around them; symbolic games, drawings, behaviors and spoken language are imitated. For this reason, it is recommended that children begin learning at an early age. It is precisely at this stage that child development is favoured if sensory perceptions are offered in enriched environments. Likewise, from the emotional point of view, in the first 6 years of life the subject builds the bases of his self-esteem, develops confidence, security, autonomy and initiative, in his relationship with other people and with the culture to which he belongs.

Give them the right attention.

When we address them we must know that they are children but we must also take into account that one day they will be adults, so we should not ignore their requests although by not ignore I do not mean to please them all, when they talk to us or ask for something is the right time to give them a teaching, we must teach everything because although at the moment perhaps they do not understand when they are adults will have memory of the teaching and that is when they will be useful. This part I say with much property because the best advice I treasure in my memory are those of my grandfather who advised me when I was between 5 and 8 because long ago he died but his teachings stayed with me and every time I remember him I understand that it was a person very knew by everything he taught me. So we must treat our children as if they were adults in the sense of seriousness, but know that they are children in terms of pleasing them in everything or want to punish them for something they did wrong without a previous teaching.

Children live in a world of fantasies because they do not know many cruel realities that we do know about this world, it is our duty to let them live well that stage but keep them ready to come out of it can face reality with a healthy mind.
