The melon crop takes about 120 to 160 days between planting and harvesting. The fruit of the melon when it is ripe is detached by itself, or with just a small turn of the fruit it is easily detached. The color of the skin is useful to understand if the melon is ready for harvest. The melon sugars are concentrated in the last week of growth, so be careful to harvest them ripe, otherwise you will not taste. Also the lack of potassium in the soil causes melons without flavor. The advice is to wait a few hours to eat it, at least one day. A melon kept in the fridge is kept for 10 days.
