Farms: Chaste Tree, A Plant With Truly Unique Features
[Source](
Origin and History
The chaste tree owes its name to the flexible but robust branches (Vitex da Vitilium, which means "interlaced") used in the construction of palisades.
A gnus-castus (chaste lamb), on the other hand, refers to the anaphodysical properties attributed to this plant thanks to the contrasting action of male testosterone. It seems, in fact, that the monks brought the buds of the plant in their clothes to be able to stifle their libido.
In addition, Pliny the Elder tells in his "Naturalis Historia" that the chaste tree spread over the beds of the Athenian women to ensure their loyalty while the husbands were away from the war.
Agnocasto: Property
The fruits have a small amount of essential oil, flavonoids (such as vitexina, isovitexina and casticina), alkaloids and bitter principles.
This composition gives the plant an antiestrogenic and antispasmodic action that makes it ideal to counteract the symptoms, especially the psychological symptoms such as irritability and anxiety, typical of the menstrual cycle but also to control irregularities.
Even acne and neurovegetative disorders of menopause can find relief with the assumption of a caste tree. Thanks to the sedative effect, in addition, the plant can be useful in case of tachycardia, insomnia and intestinal spasms.
Agnocastus and Fertility
Not only agnocasto has excellent resistance properties in order to regularize the hormonal activity and the menstrual cycle, but one of the most peculiar characteristics of this plant lies in its ability to balance the hormones of fertility.
Recent studies attribute to this plant the property of increasing the production of LH or luteinizing hormone, the upbringing and regularization of progesterone levels and thus favor a completely natural ovulation.
Warning: it takes several weeks or even some months of treatment before feeling any benefit. For example, 1 to 3 menstrual cycles are required to see an improvement in premenstrual syndrome, at least 2 cycles to regulate the menstrual cycle.
Of course, before starting a treatment to promote fertility using the chaste tree, it is absolutely mandatory to contact a specialist, not only to have a clear overview, but also because there are some contraindications.
Octopus contraindications
Although there are no specific contraindications for use, it is preferable that girls before puberty not take it, as it is totally inadvisable for pregnant women.
In addition, any interaction with the contraceptive pill or with psychotropic drugs such as anxiolytics or sleeping pills should be avoided.
The use in women subjected to in vitro fertilization should be avoided.
How to take it: dose
For the intake of octopus, you can choose between 800 mg of dry extract in tablets or capsules, to eat away from meals, or mother tincture, of which 30-40 drops are taken twice a day outside meals.
There are several extracts of this plant in the market (dyes, liquid extracts, solid extracts). However, the dose should be between 30 mg and 40 mg of dried berries.
Some extracts are standardized as casticin, others as agnuside. These two substances are exclusive molecules of this plant and, therefore, serve as markers in the production of extracts.
Here are some indications on how much to take in a day depending on the type.
- Dry berries: take 30 mg to 40 mg per day.
- Extract standardized as casticine (from 0.6% to 1%). Take 2.5 mg to 4.5 mg per day.
- Extract standardized as agnuside (from 0.5% to 6%). Take 1 mg to 4 mg per day.
- Liquid extract and dye. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
