The origin of the duck dates back to South America, which can still be found in nature. This bird has spread throughout the world, around the year 1150, by the settlers, and today can be found everywhere in the world. The most common varieties of ducks are white, black, blue, or fused with the three colors, they originated from crosses between races. A single male can mate with innumerable females.

At present, many ducks are raised for meat and eggs, the other for the production of feathers and down, for the manufacture of pillows. In addition to the numerous skills, the ducks are quite resistant and adaptable to all types of weather. However, they require a lot of food, because they are very hungry.

Although a great physical force, ducks are susceptible to diseases, especially worms. Hence the need for biannual vaccination and deworming of birds.

Much appreciated by consumers, duck meat vitamins, and contain A, B3 and C, contains minerals such as calcium, selenium and iron. As the duck eggs contain sufficient nutrients beneficial to the human body, such as carotenoids, albumin and vitamin B12, which acts on vision, brain and muscles.

Feed the Ducks

For the ducks to gain weight and grow healthy, they must initially minister granulated feed (14-day ducklings). 15 to 35 days of life, the ducks can be provided with commercial feed growth. Already 35 of the slaughter, the farmer can offer fattening feed.

If possible, also teach special diet, specially formulated for consumer ducks. And a very important detail: the feeders must always be supplied with ration. Only remove it 8 hours before the sacrifice of the bird.

Following these procedures, after 60 days of life, the ducks reach 4.5 kg.

Breeding Reproduction

After reproduction, the incubation period of the paw eggs lasts about 30 days. After 15 days of life, the patios should be vaccinated and vermifugados, to prevent diseases and mainly verminosis, very common among ducks.

As for the mating between males and females, which occurs autonomously, so the breeding season, the birds must be set loose to stimulate reproduction. In addition, when the ducks are raised freely, large gluttons feed well, thus generating stronger puppies with good weight gain for sale.

After two months of birth, ducklings are separated from the females and males that received vaccines against the disease. The rest of the campus is destined for consumption, sold alive or killed. At this age, the ducks reach 2.5 to 3 kg, after slaughter and preparation of the meat.

Legs Posture

The annual position is, 60 to 100 eggs. However, in the spring, the posture increases, period in which the legs bounce from 15 to 20 eggs. As we have said, the incubation of the eggs occurs in 30 days when the ducklings are born. These, at birth, must be transferred to the creators and remain in them for 30 days.

Facilities for Raising

For the breeding of ducks, it is necessary to have a shed around 10 m wide by 20 to 200 m long. Everything depends on the number of birds per m². As for the height of the sheds, 4 m are needed, in regions with warm weather, and 3 m, if the weather is pleasant.

Similarly, one should be careful with the shed position to avoid excessive exposure of the birds to the sun, which can cause the death of the ducks. Therefore, the house must have a constantly shaded area, for the comfort of the birds.

Thank you for reading that it is of utlidad, Blessings.
